Church of San Pedro

Be the first to review

I stayed in Andahuaylillas during a mission trip, and the town was centered around the Church of San Pedro.  Often called the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas”, the church was built in the 17th century in the Spanish Baroque style.  It houses the two oldest pipe organs in the Western Hemisphere, and the services held every day are always gorgeous.  Every year, the community has a festival where they carry 400 year old statues around town, and we were honored to carry one of the oldest (and heaviest) ones.  The head priest Father Oscar and the villagers are beyond kind and excited to welcome you to come see!
