El Born

Be the first to review

The neighborhood of El Born, located in the heart of Barcelona, makes a tourist feel as if they have stepped hundreds of years into the past. El Born is dominated by small, alley-like passages through stone buildings that house apartments, restaurants and museums.
Despite being in the center of Barcelona, El Born maintains a distinctive feel from the rest of city. Stone streets and pathways weave around in a maze and usually empty into a quaint central plaza filled with restaurants, groceries and bars. In the center of the plaza, there is an archeological exhibit where you can see the remains of Barcelona’s streets from hundreds of years ago.
While El Born has many great restaurants, its seafood hub, La Paradeta, is in a league of its own. As with many fantastic eateries, the line is long but also well worth the wait. La Paradeta has its own fleet of boats that stocks the restaurant and they sell the seafood by weight, so beware that your eyes aren’t bigger than your stomach.
With its central location and great vibes, El Born is a great headquarters for a visit to Barcelona.
