Built in 2000, this is a museum of music history, focusing on rock and roll, but with rotating exhibitions that cover the whole spectrum of modern music. The EMP is in the middle of downtown Seattle, next to the Pacific Science Center and the Space Needle. There is also an area with musical instruments and software that lets visitors experiment and make their own music. The building also contains a Science Fiction museum with rotating exhibitions, that features props from various science fiction films.
