Tiger Leaping Gorge

Be the first to review

The Tiger Leaping Gorge is located in the Southwestern Chinese province of Yunnan, and it is undeniably the greatest attraction Yunnan has to offer. At the cost of some exercise and a one-time purchase open ended ticket, you will be rewarded with some of the most breathtaking nature and scenery on planet Earth. Upon entering the gorge, you will have the option of two trails: the high trail and the low trail.

The high trail is definitely the better of the two, because the view at high altitude is an experience you will never forget. The path leads you in-between the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and the Haba Snow Mountain, and looking below you will see the beautiful and peaceful Jinsha River. Along the way, you will encounter quiet villages, luscious greenery, unique restaurants, numerous lodges, and the local Naxi people.

This is a travel destination everyone should visit at least once in their life; do so, and I promise Mother Nature will not let you down. Fun Fact: Legend says a tiger once leaped from one side of the gorge to the other to escape a hunter chasing it, thus the gorge was given the name: Tiger Leaping Gorge.
