M & M Donuts is a small, family-run donut shop and drive-thru on West Katella Avenue in Anaheim, just a few minutes from Disneyland. Owned and operated by James and Sandy Ma, the shop has built a loyal following for its late-night hours and a single standout item: a blueberry cake donut made fresh to order rather than pulled from a case.
The counter and drive-thru serve a rotating lineup of classic donuts, donut holes, muffins, and breakfast croissant sandwiches with combinations of ham, bacon, egg, and cheese, but the blueberry donut is what draws the crowds — thick and cakey, studded with real blueberries, and finished with a warm sugar glaze best eaten within minutes of coming out of the fryer. Coffee, hot chocolate, and iced coffee round out the menu.
M & M Donuts keeps unusual hours, closing around midday and reopening in the evening for its famous overnight run, which makes it a magnet for the late-night and early-morning crowd leaving Disneyland and the surrounding hotels. Expect a wait — sometimes 30 minutes or more during peak overnight hours — since every batch is made fresh; cards are accepted but carry a small surcharge, so many regulars bring cash.
