Ferry Plaza Farmers Market is a California Certified Farmers Market operated by the nonprofit Foodwise at San Francisco’s Ferry Building. Established in 1993, the year-round market connects shoppers with California farmers, food makers and chefs at the foot of Market Street on the Embarcadero.
The Saturday market brings more than 100 vendors to the front of the Ferry Building and the bayside rear plaza. Its stalls offer seasonal produce, farm products, prepared foods, and brunch and lunch options. Smaller Tuesday and Thursday markets focus on fresh fruits and vegetables, lunch fare and Thursday street-food vendors.
The market runs Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Foodwise also presents cooking demonstrations and education programs that connect visitors of all ages with the regional foodshed. The Ferry Building is served by ferries, Muni streetcars and nearby BART and Muni Metro connections.
