Truly a hidden Gem in Los Angeles, one of the last venues around where you can witness live Musical Legends in a small space. It’s tiny, can seat 40-50 people tops. It’s a really intimate setting, great for dates, and enjoying world class Jazz Music.
The club carries with it a long standing tradition of great performers and a casual, welcoming, laid-back atmosphere for music-lovers.
The spud offers a wide selection of jazz, from traditional to fusion, classic performers and newcomers alike. Cover at the door varies depending on the performer that evening, but is always reasonably priced. Keep in mind, there is a two drink minimum (though it doesn’t need to be alcohol beverage.)
Bring an appetite, as the spud isn’t just a clever name.. they carry a huge selection of incredibly crafted baked potatoes (from thickly cut ham & cheddar, to rich chicken parmesan). Also, the apple pie is absolutely worth it, but is nearly a whole meal in itself…
So many legends perform here, and you might get the chance to talk to them afterwards. That’s the true Magic, and what you’re paying for. Solid experience if you know what to expect!
