Meiji Jingu is a major Shinto shrine set within a broad forest between Harajuku and Yoyogi. Dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, it offers a quiet, ceremonial contrast to the busy streets just outside its torii gates.

The main approach passes through tall woodland to the shrine buildings, where visitors can observe traditional worship customs or time a visit around seasonal ceremonies. The adjacent Inner Garden is especially known for its irises in early summer.

The shrine is at 1-1 Yoyogikamizonocho in Shibuya. General admission to the main grounds is free; check the official website for current opening times and garden access.
