Carpentaria State Beach camping grounds are great for camping with the family. The beach is conveniently
within walking distance and the campsites are practically on the California Coast water.
The state beach has tent camping and RV spots available, but reservations need to be made far in advance since spaces fill up quickly. There are also showers and restrooms available for campers to use; however, the hot water for the showers requires approximately two to three quarters for each shower.
Carpentaria State Beach has smaller waves, tide pools and seals that come and play in the water and bathe on the rocks off shore. The beaches are not as crowded as a typical beach in summer and allow families to relax while they watch their children play in the surf.
Carpentaria is also a small town with plenty of restaurants and is only about 25 minutes away from Santa Barbra.
