With numerous accolades doled out to this small, historic town, Charleston is now known world-wide for being friendly, polite, and the home of some very attractive people. Spend a day in the city, and you’ll never want to leave! With horse-drawn carriages and cobblestone lanes, a normal summer day in the downtown area can guarantee traffic will be at a stand-still as thousands crowd the paths. Known for its food and hospitality options, Charleston boasts some excellent restaurants and music venues, including The Music Farm: it’s a good idea to check out their website to see when your favorite band might visit. High-end stores line King Street, and various museums will educate you on Charleston’s past. A ghost walk at dusk might be too creepy, especially when you traverse one of the many graveyards. Walk down Rainbow Row, where looming private homes and museums glimmer in the hot southern sun and show off their unique hues, and hit Market Street’s booths for some hand-made treasures. Finish off the day with some good southern cooking and Italian gelato, and you have some fine memories!
