About

Featuring an al fresco concept where you dine in the open air on chairs and table lining the curbs, Jalan Alor needs no introduction to those who love their food. Characterised by rows of hawker stalls offering all kinds of local delights spanning the whole length of the street on both sides, it gets especially busy around lunchtime and dinnertime, although many stalls here are open until late seven days a week. Cheap and cheerful, the astounding range of local dishes available here could prove to be quite overwhelming to first-timers, so the best way to approach it is to walk right to the end of the street, taking note of the dishes on offer along the way, then walk back up and stop at the ones that strike your fancy.
