Kumagai Ryokan

Be the first to review

If you are looking for a more homey version of a traditional Japanese inn, look no further than Kumagai Ryokan. This cozy inn centrally located in Morioka has just eight tatami rooms, but most will sleep at least two or more people. It’s a nice sized place for a more intimate gathering, and you just might even make some new international friends. The staff is friendly and the service is top notch. The decor is plentiful and adds a nice bit of charm and whimsy, making you feel more like you’re staying over at your fun aunt’s place rather than at an inn. There is even a nice shared bath/laundry area on the main floor. Another great aspect of Kumagai Ryokan is the option of adding meals to your stay (breakfast: 1,000 JPY and/or dinner set A:1500 JPY/ set B: 2000 JPY). You can decide when you check in if you want to add meals to your stay. If you are an animal lover, than you will find great company with the mascot dog of the establishment named Gon-chan. He usually keeps to himself, but if you’re lucky he’ll let you pet him for a while. You’ll leave feeling like one of the family!
