Las Leñas

Be the first to review

Las Leñas is one of the largest Andean ski resorts in Argentina, located in the western part of Mendoza Province, together with Cerro Catedral in San Carlos de Bariloche, Rio Negro province. It is well known for its powder snow, good climate and excellent opportunities for extreme and off-piste skiing.
The accommodations available on-site include hotels (mostly up-scale), apartment hotels and sleep houses. There is a small shopping center that includes a bank, ski-related shops, chocolate shops, souvenir shops, and a supermarket. Coffee houses, restaurants, and night clubs complete the commercial offer.
In my opinion, this is an excellent ski resort if you just want to ski and have fun with friends. Even though it has hotels where families can go, the vail does not offer too much for kids. It does not have a city centre or any other stuff to do besides skiing. Also, the landscape is not as pretty as other ski resorts in Argentina, where you can ski through the trees or contemplate a wooded landscape.
One of the best things about Las Leñas is that everything is close to you. The furthest accomodation is just 2 blocks from the slopes, that is a huge advantage against other ski resorts where you have to go by car and then take a lift to the base.
No matter your skills, Las leñas is prepared for beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers. It also has a ski school for children and private lessons for any type of skier.
Las Leñas is considered as the most expensive ski resort in Argentina, but the reality is that you have many options. There is even a hostel that has just opened.
If you want to have excellent snow, amazing slopes and have fun, do not hesitate on going to Las Leñas. Nightlife is algo pretty good!
