A wonderful place to visit with the family! Osaka Castle is likely the most famous castle of Japan (coming second possibly the castle in Nagoya) and a must see for those stopping by the big city. Osaka Castle is a historical monument that was constructed under the command of Hideyoshi Toyotomi, a local hero of Osakan’s for his life story of rising from poverty as a farmer’s son to one of the most powerful men in Japan. Osaka Castle surrounded by two moats and located in the middle of a large park. You will definitely not run out of things to do while there! Besides taking a tour of the interior of the castle, be sure to also walk around the park. Many locals like to hang out there as well. Sometimes some bring unusual activities along such as magic shows and owners of unusual pets such as iguanas and owls (they also allow and are eager to let tourists take pictures with their pets as well).
