About

While it is called the Peking Garden Restaurant, this place has Chinese food from all over, ranging from Peking Duck all the way south to Guangdong style seafood.  I personally recommend the deep-fried mango shrimp, because it perfectly blends the fruit and shrimp flavors without being too sweet.  The biggest specialty Peking Garden Restaurant has, however, is its Beggar’s Chicken.  Preparation requires an order 24 hours in advance, because it’s a whole chicken wrapped in lotus leaves and a coat of clay and then slow roasted.  The waitress requires one customer to break open the hardened clay with a hammer to reveal the chicken, which has one of the most memorable flavors I’ve ever tasted.  Peking Garden Restaurant is definitely a must.
