Peter Luger Steak House is the original Brooklyn location of the family-run steakhouse, across from the Williamsburg Bridge at 178 Broadway. The restaurant traces its history to 1887, when the site opened as Carl Luger’s Cafe, Billiards and Bowling Alley, and it remains a long-standing Williamsburg dining landmark.
The kitchen centers on family-selected USDA Prime beef. Short loins are inspected at wholesale markets, dry-aged on site under controlled conditions, then butchered and broiled for the restaurant’s porterhouse steaks. The Brooklyn menu also includes thick-cut bacon, salads, seafood, lamb chops, classic sides, desserts and the Luger-Burger at lunch.
Reservations for the Brooklyn dining room are available through the restaurant’s official booking page. Peter Luger also accepts inquiries for private functions and larger groups, while pickup and delivery are linked from the official website. The photographed bar reflects the restaurant’s traditional service and full steakhouse experience.
