I’m not originally from here, but my largest takeaway is that Sacramento is suffering from an identity crisis. On one hand there known as the “Capital City”, which makes sense because there the capital of Cali. Yet on the other hand they also want to be known as the “City of Trees.”
This is curious because any other major California city has just as many trees, so I’m calling BS on that claim. Sacramento wants so desperately to be like San Francisco that they painted their meager “tower bridge” gold just like the golden gate bridge.
The grandeur of driving across a 30ft bridge suspended over a murky river is seriously lacking.
