Be the first to review

Haniwa are clay figures that originated in Japan during the Kofun period. Meaning “old tomb”, Kofun productions resemble key-hole shaped burial masses. Haniwa, or “circles of clay,” were clay figures placed inside these imperial tombs. The museum houses many haniwa figures from the Chiba Prefecture of Japan. There are also other artifacts which the museum exhibits, including swords and paintings.
