One of the best local restaurants in town, Sumo Sabi is one of the greatest things about Tallahassee. Providing a wide variety of options at incredibly cheap prices, open everyday until 3 AM (1 AM on Sunday), offering quick delivery and having a nice laid back atmosphere, this place is the answer to just about any college student’s prayers. One of the things that makes this place so interesting is their crunchy roll section; some of the combinations they have are just flat out odd, but are absolutely worth trying. My personal favorite is the Garlic Chicken sushi; covered in panko breading with grilled chicken, avocado and cucumber, and topped with creamy garlic sauce. It may sound weird, but it is one of the most delicious things I have eaten in my entire life. They also offer hibachi and curry, for those who may want something beyond sushi.
The restaurant itself has a modern feel to it, with plenty of couch and high seats and table space for you to sit down and enjoy your food. The place tends to get very busy during the weekends, but that’s for a good reason. Sumo Sabi is one of the many local eateries you shouldn’t miss out on if you ever find yourself in Tallahassee.
