Toki Underground is one of the most popular ramen shops in the D.C. area. Tucked in a tiny upstairs nook in the H Street Corridor, this cute, little place might have you waiting for a seat. But it’s so worth it! The quirky designs, chic figurines, communal tables and bar-tops (with Dragonball Z comic strips underneath the glass… creative!), and the food make for a quaint, urban, relaxed ambiance.
The ramen broths are anything but bland, nor too salty. They are full and flavorful, a difficult balance for many ramen restaurants. You can’t go wrong with the Toki Classic Tonkatsu Ramen with the fall-apart pork, or the Kimchi Ramen for a little kick. The dumplings are delicious and the service is awesome. Not a place to miss while in D.C. when you’re in the ramen mood!
