Tsurunoyu Onsen sits at the center of a vast green area that surrounds it on all sides. It is a hot-spring spa with four baths of different water composition. It is part of the larger Nyutou Onsenkyou, and the oldest out of the rest. Tsurunoyu was put together in the mid 15th century and was frequently visited by lord Yoshitaka Satake for therapy concerns.
Unlike some hot-springs, Tsurunoyu allows visitors to wear their towels inside the outdoor baths. These are also not gender segregated.
