The U.S.S. Midway is a World War II aircraft-carrier-turned-museum, and stepping inside is like taking a trip decades into history. Guests are invited to walk through all the lower decks of the ship and take a glimpse into how life was for U.S. Navy soldiers. Through an interactive audio tour, guests are shown the carrier’s controls and bridge, barracks, mess halls, and other facilities. The topmost deck also serves as an aircraft museum and displays many of the planes used by the Air Force in World War II. Guests can also speak with veterans who have been aboard the Midway in World War II and ask questions.
From time to time, the Midway also hosts various events, like movie screenings and concerts. Tickets can be bought online or at the door — there is a $2 discount for buying tickets online.
