Walla Walla is a small farming town located in Eastern Washington that has been historically known for its wheat production and sweet onions but in recent years has blossomed into an internationally recognized wine destination.
Located in the Walla Walla Valley, surrounded by the Blue Mountains and miles of wheat fields, Walla Walla features an idyllic scenery. A cute downtown area with great restaurants, wineries and bars as well as lodging, such as the historic Marcus Whitman Hotel, makes for an entertaining and relaxing vacation destination. Three colleges, including Whitman College, Walla Walla Community College and Walla Walla University, make the area a hub for higher educations.
Walla Walla has exploded onto the wine scene over the last 15 years and now is home to over 100 wineries in the area. The appellation is widely recognized for its high quality Merlot, Cabernet and Syrah wines.
