Katsura Imperial Villa is located at the west of Kyoto city. It is one of the two detached imperial palace in Kyoto, and is famous for its beautiful garden, which is considered one of the best Japanese style garden in the world.
As other imperial properties, Katsura Imperial Villa requires every visitor to make reservation before visit. You can either make appointment online or from the office of Imperial Household Agency at Kyoto Imperial Palace with your non-Japanese passport ( Japanese citizens may have to wait more than more a month to visit the villa while foreign visitors can visit it within 3 days after reservation) .
