About

2009 marked the 30th Anniversary of the premiere of Mobile Suit Gundam in Japan and with its commemoration the opening of the Gundam Front Museum in Tokyo.  Not only a great place for children to come and see iconic robot models, not to mention the 1:1 scale Mobile Suit that stands outside fo the museum, but adults can come and reminisce in the glory that is the legacy of Gundam.  While westerners may not be so initially drawn to the idea of a museum dedicated to cartoon robots, these colorful mechs lend a parallel to Japan’s industrialization and rising as an international power that has triumped after their defeat in World War II.  It is much more than a cartoon but a symbol of perseverence and passion to the Japanese with a 22,000 square foot Mecca for the giant mechs worthy of a visit for any fan or Japanese culture.
