Turkish Kitchen Izmir is an Asagaya restaurant serving traditional Turkish cooking on the second floor of Passage Asagaya, a short walk from the north exit of Asagaya Station. Owner-chef Elif Agahfuru presents recipes from Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, inland regions, home kitchens and Ottoman culinary traditions.
The menu ranges from mixed meze, hummus and olive-oil vegetable dishes to crisp lahmacun, cheese pide, lamb and chicken kebabs, manti dumplings and oven-baked seafood or meat dishes. Turkish beer, wine and raki are served alongside ayran, Turkish coffee, tea and house-made desserts.
Izmir opens Tuesday through Sunday from 5:30 p.m. to midnight, with last orders at 11 p.m.; Monday is the regular closing day. Phone reservations are accepted, takeout is available, and the restaurant can discuss private bookings for groups of up to about 40 people.
