TAC Nakano is the flagship club of Tokyo Athletic Club (東京アスレティッククラブ), Japan’s first membership-based multi-sport club, founded in 1970. The clubhouse stands a few minutes on foot from the south exit of Nakano Station in Nakano-ku, Tokyo, and the earlier ‘TAC Sun Plaza Sports Space’ branch that once operated inside the nearby Nakano Sun Plaza complex has since closed, with this Nakano Honkan facility now serving as the brand’s main Nakano-area location.
Members have access to an indoor swimming pool with lane swimming from as early as 5am, a fully equipped machine gym for strength and shape-up training, group fitness and dance studios, and an all-weather indoor running track. The club also runs structured children’s programs, including swim school and gymnastics classes for toddlers through elementary-age kids, alongside adult fitness therapy and stretch sessions.
TAC Nakano operates on a membership system with several plan tiers covering different facility access hours and pricing, and trial visits and web-based sign-ups are available for those who want to try the club before committing. The club publishes regular class schedules and seasonal campaigns on its official site, and visitors should check current hours, which run from early morning into the evening, before planning a visit.
